Changing the Forecast: DIVERSITY, NETWORKING & ALLYSHIP IN RESEARCH

We are excited to announce the upcoming Diversity, Networking & Allyship in Research workshop on 29 October 2026 from 9.00 am to 12.10 pm GMT +2.

Through a series of talks and discussions, this workshop explores different aspects of gender and diversity in research, including gender-specific perspectives in climate risk assessment, diversity and inclusion in research organizations, and the role of diversity networks in creating connections and opportunities.

A particular focus is placed on networking and allyship. The workshop provides a space to meet peers, exchange experiences and perspectives, and discuss challenges and opportunities when working in male-dominated environments. It also highlights how allyship and active support from everyone can contribute to more inclusive and gender-balanced research communities.

The event will also provide an opportunity to learn about and connect with existing diversity initiatives and networks, such as Women in HPC, and to exchange ideas for future activities and collaborations.

Requirements

This workshop celebrates diversity and in particular female and non-binary scientists working in machine learning, HPC, and weather and climate science to connect, exchange experiences, and build professional networks. Everyone is welcome to join and contribute.
